 This academic year 2021-2022, the Center for Student Involvement is hosting events that educate, engage and support the success of second-year students living both on and off campus.⁠

WHO IS A SECOND-YEAR?

Any of the following!
  • Students with Sophomore standing⁠
  • Transfer students in their second year⁠
  • Any student who enrolled in Fall 2020 or Winter 2021⁠

Second-Year Student Survey Results

Students who entered UCSD in Fall 2020 experienced a unique first year in college- they were remote and virtual. As these students transition into their second year at UCSD, we wanted to hear about their experiences, wants and needs for the new academic year. At the end of Fall 2021, we conducted a needs assessment survey where over 900 second-year students shared how the pandemic has impacted them, their concerns for this school year and what programs and events they would like to see. Below are some results we gathered from this assessment:
