Community Partners
Center for Student Involvement is seeking community partnerships with schools, nonprofits, neighborhoods, and local groups that are mutually beneficial for volunteers and you. Please complete and submit this proposal by Monday, September 27 to let us know your group would like to partner. Our team will review submissions in late summer/early Fall and connect with you. Compassion Prison Project Pen Pals
COMPASSION
We will be writing letters to people who are incarcerated. CPP's mission is to transform prisons and communities through compassionate action. Our main focus is on childhood trauma and how it affects the lives of men and women living and working in prisons.
Learn and Serve: White Saviorism
RACIAL JUSTICE
We are excited to invite students to explore white saviorism, white supremacy, in an educational workshop format. All students, student organizations, fauclty, and staff are invited to the discussion around these topics.

ERADICATE POVERTY
Volunteers help to sort produce that comes in largely through the California Association of Food Banks or from local donors. Open to groups!
Craft-A-Thon with Words Alive

UC San Diego students are needed to help cut, and assemble craft kits for local children. The mission of Words Alive is to open opportunities for life success by inspiring a commitment to reading.


Habitat for Humanity Build + Blue Line

UCSD students are invited to serve as construction volunteers in a Habitat for Humanity build. This can include painting and building. No skills are required.
Afrofuturism with SD Unified
HOPE

Participants will explore Afrofuturism through an engaging panel. Panelists will explore Afrofuturism as it relates to MLK Jr.'s philosophy of nonviolence, racial justice, and beloved community.
