Welcome!
UC San Diego’s Sorority & Fraternity Life is a unique and rewarding experience that fully captures and encompasses all aspects of a complete college experience. Whether you are looking to connect with other like minded peers, further your leadership skills, or give back to the community, there is a place for you in our community.
All organizations belong to one of the four governing councils represented on campus: National Pan-Hellenic Council, Multicultural Greek Council, Interfraternity Council, College Panhellenic Association, which allow for self-governance and peer-to-peer accountability. While each council is unique, they are part of the greater SFL community and constantly collaborate to support the membership experience. UC San Diego Sorority & Fraternity Life (SFL) is home to 24 fraternities, 21 sororities, and 16 cultural-based Greek Letter organizations. Over 2,500 Triton sorority women and fraternity men take part in this 200-year-old international tradition. Fraternities and sororities offer opportunities to cultivate bonds with students who have similar values, serve the community, and develop leadership skills inside and outside of the chapter experience.

Governing Councils
Multicultural Greek Council
The Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) at UC San Diego was founded in 2002 by five culturally based organizations with the purpose of standing united as one strong voice dedicated to representing our diverse interests and values. Currently, the council is composed of seventeen cultural and identity-based organizations. Our organizations were founded to bring underrepresented and underserved populations together as a community to celebrate our cultures, identities, and lived experiences.
National Pan-Hellenic Council
The National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) is the governing council and collaborative body of the 9 Historically African American sororities and fraternities. The primary purpose of NPHC is camaraderie, academic excellence, and service to the community. NPHC organizations host a variety of social, service and cultural programs throughout the year aimed at educating members of the community.
Governing Councils
Interfraternity Council
The Interfraternity Council (IFC) at UC San Diego is a collection of member fraternities who promote intellectual, philanthropic, fraternal, and social values within their respective chapters. Each fraternity maintains cooperation with one another, their respective international headquarters, alumni, and the surrounding community.
College Panhellenic Association
Panhellenic is the largest women’s organization on campus, and is proud to be an enriching and empowering part of its members’ lives! A collection of 12 sororities under the National Panhellenic Conference, Panhellenic at UC San Diego strives to promote the harmony and equity of our campus and the greater San Diego community.
